About the project

Everyone can fold paper crane; it is small and takes only a few minute of their time…but we collected more than three thousand of them! Can you imagine how beautiful and powerful decoration will be on the Children’s hospital walls with 3000 paper cranes together? We are sure it will brighten up the hospital wall.

Visit the origami art exhibition at level 1 Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. 22 Sept - 25 Nov 2011

Thank you for posted your love in the shape of paper cranes.

Photo Origami Sheet

For the Thursday workshop 'Out with the Old in with the New' at the Red Earth Cafe in Manly at 11 am, by Midori & Mayu, I made a 1.5 x 1.5 photo sheet out of old photos to be folded in a large origami crane. I hope many artists will come along and support 'The Folding with Love' project for the children at Randwick Children's Hospital! The photos in my large photo sheet are actually from the first art exhibition I ever had. Interestingly it was also in a Hospital in Amsterdam! The photo series was called 'Multi Kulti Kids' representing the multi cultural population in the Netherlands. I'm happy to part with those photos for this wonderful project! So please have a look through your artworks which can be photos, drawings, sketches, poems, books etc..and bring them along on Thursday! It will be really FUN!

Out with the 'Old' in with the 'NEW'!

Give your old art works a new dimension and fold them into origami cranes for the project 'folding with love'. Let go of those artworks you no longer need and no longer sell. You can bring along prints, photographs, scribbles, drawings or even your children's artworks! ANY size will do!
Be brave and put the scissors in the past and create new artistic space for the future.

Fold two cranes each! Half of the folded origami cranes will got to the Children's Hospital in Randwick, to decorate a wall, and be included in the project 'Folding with Love'. The other half of the folded artworks will be used to decorate an empty shop window in Manly. Your artworks will be used in this way to beautify Manly in an artistic way and at the same time will also promote the project 'Folding with Love'.
A great activity with a midmorning coffee! The whole community is invited to this FREE workshop and help artists folding the old into the NEW!
